If this is life-threatening, call 112 (national emergency) or 119 (medical emergency / ambulance) first. 112 is the national emergency number in Indonesia; 119 is the public health emergency line (PSC 119) for ambulance and medical dispatch. Make that call before you contact us. Once help is moving, message the desk and we take over the coordination around it.
The claim worth being suspicious of
Any service in Bali that speaks of its own round-the-clock doctors deserves one question: employed by whom, licensed where, and available from where at three in the morning? Often the honest answer is that the operator is a booking layer over independent practitioners, exactly as we are — but presenting those practitioners as its own staff tells a patient something untrue about who is responsible for their care. We would rather lose the booking than imply it.
What is actually true of us
The line is answered at any hour. The desk works in English and Bahasa Indonesia. We coordinate: choosing a destination, confirming it by phone, arranging transport, calling ahead, interpreting, handling admission and insurer paperwork, and staying on the thread until the patient is with a clinician. We do not employ doctors, nurses or paramedics; we do not diagnose, prescribe, treat or administer anything; and we hold no affiliation with any facility.
What overnight availability really looks like in Bali
Emergency departments in larger hospitals run through the night. Beyond that, availability thins: fewer practitioners are contactable for a house call, laboratories and imaging in smaller facilities often resume in the morning, and a clinic advertising round-the-clock hours may have a doctor on call from home rather than on site. This is why we ring and confirm instead of publishing a list — at four in the morning the only useful fact is who can see this patient now.
What we can do at four in the morning
Answer. Establish the non-clinical picture. Ring round in Indonesian until we have a confirmed destination or a practitioner who will attend. Arrange the car. Call ahead so nobody arrives unannounced. Meet you, interpret, and handle the intake and the deposit conversation. Start the insurer correspondence so it is not beginning from scratch at nine. Keep family abroad informed.
What we cannot do at four in the morning
Conjure a specialist who is not on the island. Make a full laboratory open before it does. Get an insurer to authorise faster than its own overnight process. Or tell you what is wrong with the patient. If the situation may be life-threatening, the answer at four in the morning is the same as at any other hour: 112 or 119, first.
How to judge any service like this
Ask three questions. Who employs the clinician who will attend, and are they licensed? Are you affiliated with or paid by the facility you are sending me to? And what will you not promise? An operator willing to answer the third question plainly — no response times in minutes, no fleet numbers, no outcome guarantees — is more likely to be describing something real.
We publish a directory of listed facilities that carries its source and the date each entry was checked, and we withhold any direct line that has not passed two independent sources. Capability still changes by the hour, so while a case is live we confirm by phone, in Bahasa Indonesia, instead of relying on what a page said yesterday.
Which numbers belong in your phone is in Bali emergency numbers: 112 and 119, and what is genuinely open overnight in after-hours and 24-hour care.

The claim we would make instead
Not that we have doctors, but that when you call at four in the morning somebody answers, speaks both languages, and starts ringing round rather than promising to call you back. That is a smaller claim than most of this industry makes and it is one we can actually keep, which on a page people read during a medical emergency is the only kind of claim worth printing.
Sanur Emergency is an independent medical concierge. We are not a clinic, hospital or ambulance operator, we do not employ medical staff, and we are not affiliated with any medical facility. All clinical care is delivered by licensed providers.
