If this is life-threatening, call 112 (national emergency) or 119 (medical emergency / ambulance) first. 112 is the national emergency number in Indonesia; 119 is the public health emergency line (PSC 119) for ambulance and medical dispatch. Make that call before you contact us. Once help is moving, message the desk and we take over the coordination around it.
Why a concierge desk exists at all
Bali has capable medical facilities. What it does not have, for a visitor, is an obvious front door. Private hospitals, public referral hospitals, small clinics and house-call services all overlap, their capabilities differ by hour and by department, and almost all of the practical friction a foreign patient hits is administrative rather than clinical: which door, what it costs, who authorises payment, who explains the symptoms in Indonesian, who signs what. A concierge desk is a way of handing that friction to someone whose only job is to absorb it.
The boundary we work inside
The boundary is the most important thing on this page, so it is stated plainly. We do not own or operate any clinic, hospital, ambulance or medical vehicle. We do not employ doctors, nurses or paramedics. We do not diagnose, prescribe, treat, give first aid or offer medical advice, in person or by message. We have no affiliation, partnership or network arrangement with any medical facility. Which door a case goes through is settled by three things a reader can check against their own situation: the condition in front of us, the distance that has to be covered, and what the receiving department can actually take at that hour.
Everything clinical belongs to the licensed practitioner who attends the patient. Our side of the line is logistics, language and paperwork — and keeping the two sides clearly separated is what makes the service safe to use.
Who stands behind the desk
Sanur Emergency is a trading name of a non-clinical coordination desk operated within Juara Holding Group, a privately held Indonesian group. The group holds no ownership or management interest in any hospital, clinic, ambulance operator or medical practice, in Bali or elsewhere, and nothing on this site should be read as a representation that it does. The channels that reach the desk are listed on contact; corporate correspondence should be sent through the same channels and marked for the attention of the coordination desk rather than to a clinical contact, because there is no clinical contact here to send it to.
What we are accountable for
Four things. That the line is answered. That the non-clinical picture is gathered accurately and passed on without distortion. That the facility is called ahead, in Indonesian, so nobody arrives unannounced. And that someone stays on the thread through admission and interpreting at the bedside, until the patient is handed over to a clinician and the paperwork has a clear owner.
We are equally accountable for what we refuse to do. We do not guess at a diagnosis to reassure a worried caller, we do not talk anyone out of calling 112, and we do not quote a response time in minutes when traffic and road closures are outside our control.
Languages, hours and coverage
The desk works in English and Bahasa Indonesia, which covers the two ends of most of these conversations: the patient or their family on one side, the receiving facility, the driver and the administrative staff on the other. It operates around the clock, because the calls that matter most tend not to arrive during office hours. Our practical footprint is Sanur and Denpasar, with coordination extending across Bali where a case needs a facility elsewhere on the island.
The Bali hospital directory on this site lists facilities by area as neutral public information, each entry carrying its source and the date it was checked. It publishes no third-party direct lines and it is not a recommendation — which door suits a case is decided by the condition, the distance and what the department can receive at that hour. Capabilities and opening hours change. We confirm by phone at the time of your case.
Who the desk is for
Visitors staying in Sanur and the surrounding area who fall ill or are injured and do not know where to go. Long-stay residents dealing with a parent or a child at two in the morning. Families managing an older traveller with existing conditions. Groups and event organisers who want a licensed medical standby arranged properly rather than improvised. Travel insurers and assistance companies who need someone on the ground to escort a case through admission.
Publishing standards
This site avoids publishing figures it cannot support. You will not find a patient count, a certification claim, a fleet size, an average response time, a founding year or a testimonial here, because none of those could be evidenced to a reader who asked. Emergency numbers are limited to the official national ones. Where a fact would need to be current to be useful — a department opening hour, a direct line — we confirm it on the call instead of publishing a version that may be out of date by the time it is read.
More on that in our approach to accuracy, and on the mechanics in how the desk works.
