If this is life-threatening, call 112 (national emergency) or 119 (medical emergency / ambulance) first. 112 is the national emergency number in Indonesia; 119 is the public health emergency line (PSC 119) for ambulance and medical dispatch. Make that call before you contact us. Once help is moving, message the desk and we take over the coordination around it.
Why villas are harder than hotels
A hotel has a sign, a reception and a room number. A villa frequently has none of the three. Many sit on lanes with no name, behind gates that look like every other gate, under a booking-site name nobody locally uses, sharing an access track with three neighbours. There may be no staff on site after dark. For a practitioner arriving at eleven at night with a bag, that is the actual obstacle.
How to describe where you are
Send a shared location pin — it beats any written address. Then add what a pin cannot carry: the nearest landmark a local would recognise, which side of the road the gate is on, the gate colour or anything distinctive about it, whether there is a gate code or a security post, how far down the lane you are from the turning, and the property’s local name if it differs from the booking. Finally, a phone that will be answered when someone is standing outside.
Do this once on arrival and keep it in a note. Composing it while someone is unwell, in the dark, is exactly when details get left out.
Have someone at the gate
If more than one adult is present, the most useful thing the second person can do is stand at the gate with a phone and a light. This sounds trivial; it routinely saves ten or fifteen minutes. If you are alone with a child, tell us so — we plan the arrival differently and will stay on the phone through it.
What we handle
Finding a licensed practitioner able to attend, confirming it in Bahasa Indonesia, relaying the outline and the patient’s details as given, guiding the practitioner in by phone, and staying on the thread until they are inside. If the assessment points to a facility, we confirm a destination that can receive the case now and arrange the car.
What a villa visit covers
Examination, history, and a judgement on whether this needs treatment where you are, observation, or a facility with equipment. What it cannot cover is imaging, laboratory tests, stitching that needs proper lighting and a sterile field, or another discipline’s opinion. The visit is still useful in those cases, because it tells you sooner that you should be elsewhere.
Long-stay villas and remoter areas
Away from the southern part of the island, distances lengthen and options narrow quickly. If you are staying somewhere remote for a while, two pieces of preparation are worth more than any emergency search later: know which direction the nearest facility with an emergency department lies, and have your location written in the form above before you need it.
The boundary
We do not diagnose, prescribe, treat or administer anything, we do not employ medical staff, and the practitioner who attends is not ours. If the patient deteriorates, dial 112 or 119 rather than waiting on a message.
We publish a directory of listed facilities that carries its source and the date each entry was checked, and we withhold any direct line that has not passed two independent sources. Capability still changes by the hour, so while a case is live we confirm by phone, in Bahasa Indonesia, instead of relying on what a page said yesterday.
The practical side of a visit is covered in doctor visits to your villa or hotel, and if the answer turns out to be a facility rather than a visit, in patient transport and transfers.

Write it once, on arrival
The single most useful five minutes of any villa stay: location pin, landmark, gate description, gate code, distance down the lane from the turning, and a phone number that will be answered. Save it as a note and send it to whoever you are travelling with. Composing that list while somebody is unwell, in the dark, is exactly when the important detail gets left out.
Sanur Emergency is an independent medical concierge. We are not a clinic, hospital or ambulance operator, we do not employ medical staff, and we are not affiliated with any medical facility. All clinical care is delivered by licensed providers.
